Little Saint Mary’s Church, Cambridge

Who’s Who at LSM

Fr Robert

The Rev'd Dr Robert Mackley
has been Vicar of Little St Mary’s since 2012.

Born and brought up near Nottingham, Fr Robert worshipped at LSM as an undergraduate. He read history at Christ's College and then theology at Emmanuel College while training for the priesthood at Westcott House. Ordained in 2003, he worked in city centre parishes in London and Liverpool before returning to Cambridge in 2009 to be Assistant Chaplain and a research student at Emmanuel, completing his PhD on the episcopate in the reign of George II.

He writes for the Bible Reading Fellowship, lectures aboard cruises, and is a regular columnist and reviewer for the Church Times. To relax, Fr Robert reads politics, theology and biography, eats out too much and watches Nottingham Forest fail to make any progress in the Championship!

Fr Robert is also Rural Dean of South Cambridge with overall responsibility for our neighbouring parishes in the deanery.

Fr Gregory

Fr Gregory Lipovsky
is Assistant Curate at Little St Mary’s.

Born in Slovakia and educated by the Franciscan Fathers in Hungary, he took monastic vows and was ordained before continuing his studies in Rome. He then spent 12 years as a parish priest in Tuscany. Encounters with the community at Saint Mark's in Florence led him to an interest in Anglicanism and to a year spent living and studying alongside ordinands at Saint Stephen’s House in Oxford.

Fr Gregory enjoys gardening and nature, walking in the countryside whether in England or Italy, reading, cooking, and the company of his two cats and other animals.
