The Society of Mary

This Society was formed in 1931 from the amalgamation of two similar societies and serves to foster devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Their society is divided up into local wards, with the Cambridge Ward of Our Lady of Mount Carmel serving this area. The Society meets at least once per quarter, often at LSM. The office of Vespers, from the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, followed by Benediction is the society's staple diet. In addition to attending the office, members also undertake to try at least to say the Angelus and to add the Final Antiphons of the Blessed Virgin Mary to their own Daily Office. Membership is open to all baptised Christians who are communicant members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church; anyone, however, is more than welcome to attend our offices.1.
