Music at LSM
Little Saint Mary's treasures its musical tradition. The main Sunday Mass
includes choral music and organ voluntaries every week of the year, including
August. The choir also sings on weekday festivals. Details of the current
music list can be found here.
There are three choirs, the Parish Choir (SATB), the Junior Choir (SS boys and girls), and the pre-junior choir.
The choral repertoire ranges from Gregorian Chant to the present day. The
Propers of the Mass, psalms, Evensong Responses and Canticles are normally
sung to plainchant. Festal services may include choral settings of the
Ordinary of the Mass and Evensong Canticles. LSM uses the New English Hymnal.
The magnificent new organ amply meets the needs of this liturgical tradition.
Organ recitals, chamber music concerts and choral events are a regular
feature, taking full advantage of the church's excellent acoustic and quiet
